Daley delighted to sign new NSW deal

NEW South Wales may have lost eight consecutive Origin series, but Blues officials are sticking solid with coach Laurie Daley.

The cockroaches lost this year's series 2-1, but Daley has received a one-year extension on his contract to take him to the end of 2015.

NSWRL chairman George Peponis said he was delighted with the work Daley carried out in his first year in charge, despite the defeat.

"His attention to detail and people management ensured that it was not a difficult decision to extend his contract," Peponis explained.

Daley said he was honoured to have his deal extended.
