Banking on customers
HAVING been born in Bundaberg, Glen Watson said he had a desire to make a real difference to the town’s future as the new bank manager at BOQ Bundaberg West.
“I believe Bundaberg offers an ideal living environment. We have a thriving business community, without the
hustle and bustle that comes with city living,” Mr Watson said.
“It’s a growth area and ideally located to benefit from the resources boom and this brings huge potential for business growth.
“I love being based in Bundaberg West.
“I think it’s an integral part of the Bundaberg Region’s business and residential communities.”
With more than 35 years of banking and business development experience, Glen said he and the team were looking forward to
welcoming new and old customers into the branch.
Mr Watson said he believed that customers shouldn’t have to ring a 1800 number and sit on hold for half an hour to talk to their banker.
“My staff and I won’t give customers the run around or make them explain their business and banking needs to a different person each time they come to the branch,” he said.
“Our focus is on building relationships with local businesses and residents alike and offering them a level of service unlike anything they’ve experienced from a bank before.
“Bundaberg has faced challenges this year as a result of the floods and the wider economic conditions but it also has tremendous opportunities.
“I have a passion for assisting others achieve their financial goals, and feel a great sense of achievement when providing customers with the financial solutions that help them grow both in personal wealth and business profitability.”
