Crowds flock to shopping centres

WITH only four shopping days left until Christmas, Bundaberg region residents were taking advantage of special Sunday trading to get in some last minute shopping before the big day.

Steve Trott and his family travelled from Gayndah to stock up on presents as well taking the opportunity for the three children to have a look at the Christmas lights last night.

“This is our first day today and what we don’t get done we’ll do tomorrow,” Mr Trott said.

Yesterday afternoon families and couples were perusing the stores at both Hinkler Central Shopping Centre and Sugarland Shoppingtown loaded up with wrapping paper and the perfect presents.

“It’s not as busy as we thought it would be, but it is still pretty packed,” Thabeban resident Dwane Barrenger said at Sugarland Shoppingtown.

Both shopping centres will be open for extended hours until Christmas Day.
