Rocky man's Sunshine Coast crime spree leads to prison time
GOING on a crime spree on the Sunshine Coast has put Shane Joseph Young behind bars.
The 29-year-old faced Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday after breaking into two businesses on the Sunshine Coast with a co-offender last August.
Young and his co-offender went to a Sunshine Beach construction business between 2am and 2.30am on August 27 and rummaged through cupboards and drawers before fleeing in a vehicle.
The court heard the pair then went to Tewantin at 3am and his co-offender broke into a Subway store by smashing glass with a rock and stole a sum of cash.
His co-offender was spotted by a nearby baker and fled to a vehicle which was driven by Young. He was found by police later that day.
Young was charged with two counts of entering a premise and was sentenced to six months imprisonment for each charge.
He has a parole eligibility date of May 5.
