Crews battle fire as it tears through 20 hectares

A BUSHFIRE near Shark's Nest, on the south side of the Elliott River, burnt through about 20 hectares on Sunday.

The fire started just after 1pm and volunteer rural fire brigades from Coonarr, Goodwood, Elliott Heads and Branyan attended the fire. Bundaberg Area training and support officer Phil Williams said the fire was put out by about 9pm.

"Fires have originated from this area on several occasions. Whether this was from accidental ignition or an un-maintained campfire is still under investigation," he said.
