EMERGENCY crews are warning motorists to stay away from a downed power pole on Miller St after a serious traffic crash. 

Just before 6pm Sunday, a red Holden Commodore lost control on Miller St, Bargara. 

The car collided with a power pole which then snapped in half, resulting in the street's residents losing power. 

Police arrived on scene following the crash.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not seriously injured despite the car's airbags being deployed in the smash. 

Witnesses were being interviewed at the scene, with fire crews on the way.

Police are warned residents and motorists to steer clear of the downed power pole until it can be repaired. 

According to emergency services, the vehicle could not be towed until around 7pm.
