Crash, bang at corner

THE front end of one vehicle was destroyed, and another car was pushed into a set of traffic lights, after a crash at the corner of Takalvan and Enterprise streets about 1pm yesterday.

Bundaberg Police Sergeant Michael Prickett said one of the cars “T-boned” the other.

“The front end of one car was sheared off,” Sgt Prickett said.

Six people, including a baby and a child, were in the cars but there were no serious injuries.

One person was taken to Bundaberg Hospital with minor injuries.

It was the second crash in two hours at the intersection, after two cars also collided there about 11am.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Bundaberg responded after reports of fire in one of the vehicles — but the “smoke” turned out to be residue from an airbag.
