Best in business thrill crowds

THE best in the bull riding business thrilled crowds as the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) cowboys took centre stage at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct for the PBR Super Bull presented by Gulf Western Oil.

Saturday night was a chance for fans to witness plenty of action as the riders tested their skills against animals weighing up to 1,000kg.

The 2014 Champion, Fraser Babbington from New Zealand returned on Saturday and was looking to secure his position on the new 2016 standings, which was lead by Singleton cowboy Cody Heffernan.

But Heffernan was looking to take home another buckle after winning the PBR in Mackay last weekend.

However it was Kurt Shephard who managed to take the honours, finishing ahead of Damien Herden in second and Cody Heffernan in third.

PBR general manager Glen Young said the riders really lifted in Bundaberg after being outclassed by the bulls the in Mackay.

"Bundaberg's a great location and we've had a lot of success there," he said.

"Crowds were down a little but we'll be back next year."

The next BPR event sees riders head to the All Star Challenge in Toowoomba on Saturday.
