Council gets wired

LARGE distances and extended travelling time have posed many problems for the North Burnett Regional Council since amalgamation.

However, a new system is set to change all that.

Council has put in place a new video-conferencing system using computer technology that allows staff to attend meetings across the region without the need for long hours of driving, saving the community plenty of time and money.

The system, run through council’s computers using microphones and cameras, has been trialled at council staff meetings.

The system has been hailed a huge success with everyone agreeing it will help staff, separated by distance, to collaborate even further and complete work more quickly.
