Council officers approve Palmer’s 160-dinosaur park

SUNSHINE Coast Council officers have no objections to Clive Palmer's dinosaur theme park and vintage car museum, which he believes will attract an extra 700 people to each facility a week.

Now it will be up to the Sunshine Coast councillors to determine whether a material change of use for the Yaroomba property gets the green light, or whether they consider the 191 submissions against it.

Council officers said the latest application was considerably scaled down from the original plan of seven marquees for the vintage car museum, the mini dinosaur exhibit and the tracked car ride and mini golf course.

The new plan looks to create a home for 160 dinosaur models instead of the original 50.

The application will go before the council's ordinary meeting for a decision at next Thursday, July 25.
