Division 9 candidate 'guarantees' results

BRAD Evans believes he has what it takes to make a change in Bundaberg and that's why the local man is running for council in next year's election.

Mr Evans said his local knowledge and love for the region is what makes him a great candidate for the Division 9 position at Bundaberg Regional Council.

"There is no representation at the moment, 99% of constituents don't know who their representative is," he said.

"I think the people need somebody who they can call upon to be there."

Mr Evans has lived in Bundaberg for 20 years, attended Kepnock State High School and worked in the real estate industry and in project management and construction.

He said he plans to engage with the community by holding monthly meetings until the election to discuss important topics and the problems that need addressing.

"There are issues in our local area that need a community focus for a positive change," he said.

"Our unemployment rate is high and there is a trend of complacency with some of our local youth. We live in an amazing city and we need to develop strategies to bridge the gap between the community and our representatives and work together to achieve results.

"My main focuses are to create programs, school-based traineeships and more to get our youth motivated."

The 27-year-old said, if elected, he would bring energy and enthusiasm to the team.

"We need a bit more life injected into council and I think I have what it takes," he said.

Mr Evans has created a Facebook page to use as a platform to talk with the community about issues and ideas for the region.

"When elected, I will represent you for the full four years of my tenure, you will not forget who your representative is. I will promise to deliver positive change, guaranteed results, a new energy in council and to restore pride in our community,."
