Council try to fix pothole problem

COUNCIL crews have been hard at work filling in the dozens of potholes that appeared after the recent rain.

At Woongarra Street in the CBD, two holes appeared and were quickly filled in, while many others riddle the turtle roundabout and other roads in the region.

It might be a bumpy drive on our roads for quite some time, as the council battles to fill the estimated 5000 potholes across the region.

“Council has six dedicated bitumen-patching crews and they are working flat out only dealing with potholes at the moment,” Bundaberg Regional Council roads and drainage group manager Peter Jensen said.

“The more heavily trafficked roads and the larger potholes will take precedence for patching.”

To report a pothole, call the council on 1300 883 699.
