Council encourages residents to pay bills online

Bundaberg Regional Council is now providing ratepayers with the option to receive and pay council bills electronically in an effort save money.

Council is reminding residents that they now have the option to pay council notices via BPay View through their internet banking site.

Mayor Mal Forman said it costs Council about $100,000 a year to produce and post hard copy notices.

"I hope that the community will get behind this latest initiative, as it will help to reduce costs and improve efficiencies for Council, while offering residents greater choice and convenience in paying notices online," Mayor Forman said.

"Paying by Bpay View makes a lot of sense, as our ratepayers are advised by SMS or email when their notices arrive, allowing them to pay notices with little fuss, anywhere they can access the internet.

This option also provides ratepayers with a permanent record of their notice and payment.

Anyone who is interested in receiving and paying their notices by Bpay View should access Council's website at www.bundaberg.qld.gov.au.
