Council to auction off unwanted properties

A REVIEW of Bundaberg Regional Council's Asset Register has identified portions of land across the region that are surplus to the council's requirements.

Bundaberg Mayor Mal Forman said 25 properties would go under the auctioneer's hammer at the council's main administration building on Tuesday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 1 at 10am each day.

"These properties have been on our assets register for quite some time and council is now offering them to the community at auction," he said.

"Included in the list are 10 superb residential lots, fully serviced and located in the Childers town area. There are also two magnificent Residential A allotments, one 8778 square metres and the other 9017 square metres also located in the heart of Childers.

"With current low interest rates this is an ideal time for anyone considering entering the property market with a view to either investing or securing a piece of land on which to build."

Cr Forman said the spread of properties covered most areas of the region with land available in Woodgate, Buxton, Bullyard, Bingera, Avondale, Horse Camp and Welcome Creek.

"Other properties are located closer to Bundaberg central in the areas of Bargara and Woongarra.

"The auction is being conducted by Synergy Property Specialists and will be held in the Function Room upstairs at the Council Administration Centre."
