Cop facing child sex, rape charges stood down

A POLICE officer facing allegations of child sex abuse and rape has been suspended from the police service.

Child Safety and Sexual Crime Group investigators, with oversight from the Ethical Standards Command, charged the constable, 46, with 11 counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count of rape.

The man served in the southern police region.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
