Comiskey takes down Tapp to win campdraft

NEBO rider Pete Comiskey beat hometown hero Ben Tapp by one point to win the Black Toyota Canning Downs Campdraft at the Warwick Rodeo late Saturday.

He scored 88 in the final for a three-round score of 267 on Marnies Destiny.

Tapp, who lives south of Warwick, was next into camp after Comiskey and scored 89 on Oaks Corrina to secure second with 266.

The next 23 finalists could not better the scores of Comiskey and Tapp.

Judge Codie Law, who won the Frasers Livestock Transport Stallion Campdraft earlier in the day, said the Canning Downs final was an outstanding exhibition of campdrafting.

"We had great cattle, riders and horses," he said.

The Pryde's EasiFeed Warwick Gold Cup final is at noon today.
