Collins to skipper wide bay squad

FRASER Coast's Steve Collins will find out tonight if he is again captain of Wide Bay for this weekend's Schaeffer Shield tournament in Toowoomba.

But coach Noel Stitt, who is currently in Toowoomba, said the Fraser Coast batsman was a near certainty to hold the position.

“I'm 99 per cent sure that he would be, but we will have a meeting tonight to confirm it,” Stitt said.

“He has been captain for the last two years so he is the most likely.”

Seven Bundaberg players were selected in the side, while the rest of the team is made up of players from either Maryborough or Fraser Coast. Wide Bay will play Darling Downs and SE Queensland.
