Coffee giant eyes off Bundaberg
COFFEE Guru is looking to expand into Bundaberg.
General Manager of the coffee franchise Dan Gallow said he was looking at a location in the Hinkler Centre but it really all depended on the franchisee.
"We're looking to expand up the east coast,” he said.
Currently there are 18 stores in Canberra, 11 in NSW and one in Queensland.
Coffee Guru are looking for franchisees that are customer focussed and customer centric.
"Cafe skills can be trained. We're very much flexible in our offer.”
An advertisement on Seek business was posted last week.
"Guru stores are focussed on providing quality coffee and exceptional customer service and are looking to open in Bundaberg,” the ad read.
"Coffee Guru's values are fresh, healthy, innovative and passionate.
"Franchisees undergo a four week training and induction program covering espresso training and operating proceedures.”
The franchisee is encouraged to make the cafe their place by planning the fitout, creating a custom menu and can even change the location if they have something better in mind.
"We want stores to feel independent, like a one off cafe not a large multinational.
"It allows them to drive their own profit.”
Once the right franchisee is found the new site in Bundaberg will be confirmed.
Mr Gallow said the business would like to see 20 new sites from Brisbane to Cairns open in the next five years.
Coffee Guru started in Canberra in 2002 as a coffee and cake shop and now offers are range of food items.
This year the franchise is also going app based with a loyalty system and the ability to order from the app and select a time for when you want your order ready.
The costs to become a franchisee vary depending on the site and fitout but there's a flat franchisee fee of $1750 per month.
