There are growing fears Brisbane's snap three-day lockdown could extend further due to a telling line on the health department's website.

Previously, the website stated that the lockdown would come to an end on Thursday at 5pm.

However, on Wednesday night, it had been quietly amended.

"Testing and respiratory clinics will not require a GP referral for the duration of the greater Brisbane lockdown- 5pm AEST Monday 29 March to 11:59pm AEST Tuesday 6 April," it now reads.

It comes after Queensland recorded three new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, with two of those acquired through local transmission.

Ryan Reynolds' hilarious virus jab joke

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has just received his coronavirus vaccine - and couldn't resist cracking one of his trademark jokes at the same time.

The Deadpool star shared a picture of himself getting the jab on Instagram while donning a face mask.

It was accompanied by the caption: "Finally got 5G".

It was a reference to an incorrect vaccine conspiracy theory commonly spread by anti-vaxxers.

Hospital staff ordered to isolate

Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital remains in lockdown after recent COVID-19 cases were linked to the ward 5D.

Since the call was made, a "large number" of staff have been asked to self-isolate in a bid to halt the spread.

On Wednesday, Queensland Health emailed staff to inform those who had entered the ward between 8pm on March 23 and midday on March 26 would be "requiring quarantine", even if they had no "specific contact with individual patients".

"I realise this will be extremely disruptive to clinical services and no doubt we need to cancel some clinical activities," the email said.

Clue Brisbane lockdown could be extended

Queenslanders covered by the state's three-day lockdown are growing increasingly concerned they could be facing an extended confinement, with one sentence on the health department's website providing an alarming clue.
