Clippers for good cause

MISS Bundy Thunder entrant Lauren Rimmington will get out the clippers for a cause on Friday night.

The apprentice hairdresser persuaded friends Mandy Ohlbrecht and Jason Burns to shave their heads to help raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Ms Rimmington said she decided to become a Miss Bundy Thunder entrant because she thought it would be great to do something for the community.

“I’m hoping to raise a couple of thousand dollars,” she said.

All funds raised by Ms Rimmington throughout the Miss Bundy Thunder quest will go to the Leukaemia Foundation.

“I thought it would be a good cause,” she said.

“I thought even if I could only raise $50, that $50 would help someone.”

The public is invited to attend the shave night, and nominate themselves to lose their locks if they’re game.

Coloured hairspray will also be on offer for a gold coin donation.

The night will start at 7pm at The Waves.

People unable to attend the night can still donate at The Waves or at Signature Hair.
