Russian Ballet grace Moncrieff with Swan Lake performance

THE Russian National Ballet Theatre production of Swan Lake hits the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre stage on Friday, October 16, at 7.30pm.

The classical performance, with instantly recognisable music of Tchaikovsky, tells the wonderfully dark story of good set against evil. The glamour of the palace ballroom is evocative of the Russian Imperial world in which the ballet was created.

The central role of Odett/Odile is one of the most testing for any ballerina in portraying both the vulnerability of Odette the white swan and the predatory duplicity of Odile the black swan.
