Chopper airlifts trail biker

A MAN hurt in a serious trail bike crash has been flown to hospital by the Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.

The man, aged in his 50s, suffered suspected chest and shoulder injuries in the off-road crash at Many Peaks, in the Boyne Valley south of Gladstone, just after noon on Saturday.

He was driven to the Grand Hotel Many Peaks by a friend, before the CareFlight helicopter was dispatched to fly him out.

With the help of a local paramedic, the CareFlight team assessed and treated the man at a school oval.

He was then flown to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
