Chipmunks Playland and Cafe to open on Johanna Blvd

CHIPMUNKS Playland and Cafe will open in Bundaberg.

The popular play centre and cafe to be situated in the key business precinct of Johanna Boulevard has been given a tick of approval by Bundaberg Regional Council.

Council planning and development spokesman Ross Sommerfeld said Chipmunks Playland and Cafe would cater to children aged 0-11 years in a position the operators believed was a sound strategic location.

"The properly made application for a Material Change of Use of the site was presented to council planning staff on August 31," he said.

"This application was able to be progressed swiftly because there were no major issues with the type of business proposed or its location.

"The facility consists of a 1106sq m building sited on a 2567sq m allotment at 59 Johanna Boulevard.

"The building dimensions are 64m by 18m and is to be constructed to a maximum height of 7.2m. The site will contain 31 car parking spaces."

Cr Sommerfeld said the application represented a welcome addition to the mix of businesses that were now operating in the expanding shopping hub in Johanna Blvd.
