Charges laid following alleged pub assault
TWO people have been charged with the assault of a 48-year-old man following a police investigation into a disturbance at the Grand Hotel in Childers.
Childers Police officer-in-charge Sergeant Geoff Fay said the alleged assault occurred on October 13 and police today (Friday) charged a 41-year-old man.
A 48-year-old woman was also charged on Thursday in relation to the same incident.
"At about 2.45pm on October 13 there was a disturbance down the Grand Hotel in Churchill St," Sgt Fay said.
"A patron standing at the bar of the hotel was assaulted.
"Police investigated it and established each accused have acted in each other's company so they've been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in company."
The complainant received bruising after allegedly being struck by the man and woman.
The pair are due to appear in the Childers Magistrate Court on November 13.
