Troy Madle wants to be mayor

A CHILDERS man has become the first to throw his hat into the ring to challenge Bundaberg Mayor Mal Forman in next year's mayoral election race.

Troy Madle announced his candidature in a Facebook posting.

He said with an extreme amount of consideration and support he had decided to prepare a mandate and run for the position of mayor.

"I have a small crew at the moment and would appreciate as much support as I can gather to make this a reality," he said.

"I am positive I can bring together Bundaberg and its rural regions and unite the harmony required to go forward."

Mr Madle said he would be releasing his mandate of policies in due course.

"Please contact me if you would like to assist," he said.

Mr Madle said he would attend meetings and functions as invited to gather residents' thoughts and help where he could.

"Please post and share this message if you believe in me to fulfil this role," he said.

"I do solemnly swear to uphold this position in the most honest and integral and transparent way possible."
