Festival to celebrate Bundy's spirit
A CELEBRATION of great food, great music and great rum is just around the corner with the Spirit of Bundaberg Festival gearing up for its second event of the year on Saturday, October 10.
The event, which will take place at The Bundaberg Distilling Company distillery grounds, will feature an incredible line-up of Australian talent, including Australia's premiere supergroup - Antidopean Rock Collective (ARC).
ARC consists of four of Australian rocks' most iconic artists, including Jet's Mark Wilson, Spiderbait's Kram, Powderfinger's Darren Middleton and returning once again after headlining the May show, You Am I's Davey Lane.
Support for ARC comes in the form of genre-defying musician Eden Mulholland, Brisbane's Zefereli and The Grates, while Young Dingoes will be back for a second year following narrowly missing out on winning the Battle of the Bands competition at last October's festival.
"For over 125 years, the Bundaberg community has played an essential role in helping us develop and craft what is now an internationally recognised and award-winning rum. The locals of Bundaberg have seen us through a great depression, major floods and two devastating fires," Bundaberg Rum senior brand manager Duncan Littler said.
The festival celebrates all things rum with a huge array of activities that will bring together friends, strangers, locals and travellers in one community spirited event.
The festivities will also mark the latest release of Bundaberg Rum's Master Distillers' Collection (MDC), MDC Black Barrel - Distilled 2005.
