Praed couple celebrating 50 years of marriage

IN THE small town of Ingham David Praed set his eyes on Ann and little did they know their hearts would still beat for each other five decades later.

The pair were married in the Holy Trinity Church on September 11, 1965.

They have four children, Bradley, Rodney, Kim and Brett and five grandchildren Lachlin, Breanna, Kendal, Shelby and Teagan.

Their son Rodney Praed said he was proud of his parents and the longevity of their relationship.

He said his parents were well known in the Bundaberg region with them both involved in the Bundaberg Probus group.

They spent some time trying to link the family name back to its origin.

"Dad has been trying to link the family name back to the original Praed family in England," he said.

"The English lord was known for having big parties that went for months and being a gambler."

Mr and Mrs Praed celebrated 50 years of marriage on September 11 at the Bundaberg RSL and were joined by immediate family for dinner.
