21 years of arthritic care

MORE than 40 past and present members of the Bundaberg Region Arthritis Support Group (BRASG) gathered to celebrate 21 years of support.

The group works in conjunction with Arthritis Queensland and provides information and support for those suffering from arthritis.

BRASG president Marilyn King was excited about the achievement.

“This is a huge, happy milestone for our group,” she said.

“Although we have arthritis ourselves, we believe it is important to help each other and provide support to other suffers.”

The group was treated to a presentation by Dr Alex Klestov.

“We were very lucky this year to have Dr Alex Klestov join our celebrations and speak on the differences between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid disease; arthritis and its many forms is a very debilitating disease,” said Ms King.

Several special guests attended the event; including Rheumatologist Dr Pradeep Brambery from the Bundaberg Hospital and his wife Dr Brambery, Bowen Therapists Sonia Smith and Barbara Loote and Cr Judy Peters.

“This year turning 21 was a fantastic opportunity for past members to come along with their families and join in the singing and laughter and reconnect with friends,” Ms King said.

The group meet on the last Saturday of every month and new members are welcome.
