Case adjourned for homeless man accused of attacking cops
A FORMER Mackay man accused of attacking Brisbane police officers while he was homeless has had his case adjourned.
Wilhelmus Maria Ryke allegedly hit and bit the officers when they tried to remove him from the Christian Science Church grounds in Brisbane in July.
He is also accused of attacking officers five days later, while he was in the police watchhouse.
Mr Ryke faces assault charges, along with trespassing and possessing a knife in public.
Earlier this month the 45-year-old's case came before the Brisbane Magistrates Court, but it was adjourned while Mr Ryke's lawyers waited for the full prosecution evidence brief.
On Monday, the Brisbane court adjourned his case further to November 16.
Mr Ryke did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.
