Car stolen and crashed during break and enter

A 69-YEAR-OLD man woke to find himself the victim of a robbery overnight.

Police say a car was stolen during the break and enter before being driven through a fence and crashed into a tree.

The man's mobile phone and wallet had been stolen from his Ballard Street, Mysterton, property, along with his ute which had been parked in the car port.

A vehicle believed to match the stolen ute's description was seen on Galvani Street in Wulguru where it crossed onto the opposite side of the road and mounted a nature strip.

The vehicle then struck a tree and crashed through the 6-foot wooden fence of a nearby residence, before driving off again along Rayleigh Street.

It was later found abandoned on Wayne Street in Kelso.

Police are seeking two boys aged around 15 described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
