UPDATE: A woman has been charged after allegedly driving her car into a Warwick shopfront.

The car mounted the kerb and slammed into Choice Discount Store just before 12pm yesterday.

The female driver was charged with failing to drive with proper control of a motor vehicle.

Police believe the crash occurred as a result of the driver believing her car was in reverse.

They said she accelerated with enough force to mount the kerb and smash into the Grafton St store.

One Choice Discount Store employee said the crash could be heard from the back of the store and the car's wheels continued to spin and smoke after the crash.

YESTERDAY: A Choice Discount Store employee has spoken out about the terrifying moment a car slammed into their shopfront.

"I was up near the counter when it happened," she said.

"The driver just hit the accelerator and jumped forward.

"After she hit the window there was smoke everywhere and her wheels were spinning."

The employee said the 11.50am smash could be heard from the back of the store.

EARLIER: Police are still speaking with witnesses after a car slammed into a Grafton St store this morning.

The car collided with front facade of Choice Discount Store at about 11.50am.

The female driver was out of the car by the time emergency services arrived.

She was treated by paramedics but was not taken to hospital.

It appeared the driver drove forward and mounted the footpath instead of reversing.

12PM: A CAR has reportedly slammed into a shop on busy Grafton St in Warwick.

The car collided with front facade of Choice Discount Store at about 11.50am.

Emergency services are descending on the scene and will be speaking to witnesses to the crash.

It appears the female driver of the vehicle has gone forward and mounted the footpath instead of reversing.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.
