Car collides with police vehicle while on the run

POLAIR has been called in again after an alleged dangerous driver evaded police.

Officers say they saw a car around 11:30 pm that had been involved in an evade police incident on September 23.

They attempted to intercept the vehicle but it has reportedly refused to stop, evading them again.

Police were able to track the vehicle with the help of Polair and tried to intercept again, this time with the car mounting a curb, colliding with a street sign and hitting a police vehicle between Rodney Street and Trumpy Street in Silkstone.

The car was tracked to Derek Glode Place in Raceview where the driver allegedly refused to leave the vehicle before being taken into custody.

A 30-year-old man from Merrylands in New South Wales has been charged with five counts of failing to stop, two counts of failing to provide a specimen of breath, and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contravening a direction, obstruct police, drive unregistered vehicle, drive uninsured vehicle and driving without a license.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on October 14.
