Students donate about 2500 cans of food to Global Care

BUNDABERG Christian College students presented about 2500 cans of food to the local Global Care charity during their primary assembly last week.

Global Care Bundaberg leader Yale Morgan thanked the students for their generosity.

"These cans will be enough to provide food for about 390 families needing a hand up in Bundaberg, as part of our emergency food hampers," Mr Morgan said.

The 2400 cans were stacked in piles across the front of the stage in the college hall, providing an impressive visual display.

Students at the college participated in the can challenge for four weeks over the past two months.

The teachers took the opportunity to speak with their students about how hunger affects people in the Bundaberg community.
