Buy your gifts local and handmade this Christmas

BUNDABERG'S newest markets are providing unique, handmade options for those last minute Christmas shoppers as well as the opportunity to donate to a good cause.

Mayor Mal Forman said the Handmade Expo had offered to support the Mayor's Christmas Appeal at its upcoming market day on Saturday, December 21.

"I'm very grateful to the Handmade Expo for showing its support to the appeal," Cr Forman said.

"I would encourage residents to support this market which is filled to the brim with talented stallholders from our region.

"It is shopping and supporting local in its simplest form."

Organiser Christine Ewald said she was thrilled to support the Mayor's Christmas Appeal at the Handmade Expo which has been going from strength to strength since starting in October.

"I saw there was a need for a market such as this in Bundaberg and knew the Handmade Expo ran successful markets in Ipswich, Redlands, Morayfield and Rockhampton," Christine said.

"There are so many talented makers, bakers, farmers, growers and entertainers in our region and I just felt they needed an outlet to provide these skills to the community."

The next Handmade Expo will be held on Saturday, December 21 from 9am until 2pm at the Recreation Precinct.
