Bundy's Bulls charge past Gladstone side

BASKETBALL: The Bundaberg Bulls have won their first game this year, beating a Port City Power development side in Gladstone during the weekend.

The side, waiting for a return to the Queensland Basketball League, defeated the Power 74-72 as it tries to keep up match fitness ahead of a potential return.

Leading by nine points at half time the side held off a late challenge in the final quarter to claim the win.

"It was good to get out and have a run,” Bulls coach Mick Catlin said.

"Ben Wright and Marcel Bray played well for us and we did well without the services of Luke Iacobucci.”

The Bulls are expected to play their next match at the start of July.
