Candidates in Division 7

Voting has closed and Division 7 candidates are looking forward to putting their feet up, confident they have done all they can. 

Blair Felsch

It's been a long and hot day and Division 7 candidate Blair Felsch is looking forward to seeing how the voting turns out.

"A lot of people were saying they want new people and younger people in so we'll have to see if that's how the majority voted,' he said.

"I've heard that pre-polling numbers were about a third so it will be interesting to see how quickly they can get the count done. "I'm confident I did as much as I possibly could.

"It's been a huge learning curve and something I'll never forget regardless of the result." 

Ross Sommerfeld

Ross Sommerfeld knows what it's like to win and lose an election and the incumbent Division 7 candidate said now comes the nerve racking part.

"I lost two elections before I was elected so I value my place working for the community," he said.

"I've got my fingers crossed; I'm not one to get too excited. Better candidates than me have been rolled and I respect the decision and that the people they choose will deliver. "I want to thank the opposition for a clean election." 

Richard Freudenberg

After two weeks of pre-polling and steady day today, Richard Freudenberg is looking forward to a bit of a rest while he waits to see the result. "I've enjoyed it but it has been crazy, but really good," he said.

"I spent today at Norville, my wife was at Thabeban and I had a friend at West handing out flyers.

"I think it will be very close. One it's all done I just hope there is a good mix of people who do the right thing when they get in."
