DIVISION 6 candidates have braved the heat at today's polling booths and are now eagerly awaiting the result after vote counting closes.

Tony Castro
Mr Castro spent the day at the Burnett Heads polling booth, meeting voters and getting a feel for how the voting system works.

"Being a first timer, it is very hard for me to gage but I haven't had any negative reactions and I have had many positive comments," he said.

"To me, it is all a bit of an unknown at the moment so I am not going to pre-empt anything. I just need to wait and see."

Mr Castro said, after a busy two weeks, he will be happy to put his feet up at home in the company of his wife and all the volunteers who helped him today.

Raymond Duffy
It's been a pretty exhausting day, I went from booth to booth and met a lot of people," he said.

"Some of the comments were, 'Thank Christ you have come back', which is nice to hear."

Mr Duffy said if he gets in, he is determined to start working straight away.

"As soon as I am sworn in, I can actually start doing something because I know how the system works," he said.

Mr Duffy said it was an honour to meet and work alongside the rest of the Division 6 candidates.

Scott Rowleson

Mr Rowleson said he had a positive day travelling to various polling booths throughout Division 6.

"It's a pretty large area so it was a big day and the mood was pretty good from all of the voters," he said.

May Mitchell
The NewsMail has tried to contact May Mitchell but have not had a response yet.
