Bundy votes 2016 Bill Trevor claims Division 2

UPDATE: 9.50PM: BILL Trevor has claimed victory in Division 2 after 37% of the vote had been counted.

Trevor has claimed 48.55% of the polling booth votes with Julie Green coming in second with 30.23%.

Postal and declaration votes are yet to be counted but Trevor is confident the votes will still be in his favour.

After manning the pre-poll booth in Quay St for two weeks, Trevor's first order of business will be to attend to family business he has reluctantly neglected over the past few weeks.

But once that is done, Trevor will be back on the streets he canvassed before the election.

"The talk is over, now the hard work starts," Trevor said.

"Before this election people wanted change - they were saying rates were going up, there was drainage issues and money was being spent to freely.

"This coming week I will sit down with Jack Dempsey and have a coffee and discuss a few issues."

Trevor praised the efforts of Green during the campaign and he added he admired the community work she has done in the past.

And as hard as the campaign was, Trevor said he knew the tough work would be starting when results were finalised at the end of the month.

"I have worked for the residents for eight years previously and this result was very humbling," he said.

"It was humbling to have the support of the ratepayers in Division 2."

UPDATE 8.35PM: Bill Trevor is leading Division 2 with 48.58% after four booths of 12 counted.

Julie Green is second on 32.36%.
