Bundy region gets a record soaking

THE Bundaberg region is wallowing in the wet today, after one of our biggest August rainfalls ever recorded.

Some areas received more than 100mm of rain overnight with many farmers having mixed feelings about the downpour.

With rain predicted yesterday, the region experienced a humid, overcast day before the downpour started in the evening and continued solidly through the night.

According to Bureau of Meteorology figures, rainfall across the area to 9am today included 105mm at Bundaberg Airport; 95mm in Gin Gin; 77mm in Childers; 58mm in Gayndah and 48mm in Monto.
