Bundy shares title with Tannum

JUNIOR lifesavers from across the region scooped the pool at the recent Wide Bay/Capricorn regional honours.

The accolades came after Bundaberg Surf Lifesaving Club was named as the region's champion club in a dead heat with Tannum Sands Surf Lifesaving Club.

Bundaberg Surf Lifesaving Club nipper Hayley Bowman claimed the under-14 Lifesaver of the Year award after another scorching season on the beach.

Elliott Heads Surf Lifesaving Club young gun Raquel Llorente claimed under-18 Lifesaver of the Year honours while club-mate Tylea Hansen took the honours in the 18-25 category.

Marie-Gaye Harvey was recognised for a tireless year at the Moore Park Surf Lifesaving Club's clubhouse with the Volunteer of the Year honour.

Sand sprint specialist Riley McGregor claimed the Athlete of the Year award.

Moore Park Surf Lifesaving Club's Lynne Messer was recognised for her contribution to the sport when named Assessor of the Year.

Club-mate Julie Davis received an award for her contribution to junior activities in the Wide Bay and Capricorn regional areas.
