Bundy beauty stuns judges

BUNDABERG stunner Candice Griffiths is set to leave the Rum City behind and follow her dream to the Glitter Strip after claiming the prestigious Ultimate Look modelling competition.

The former Shalom College student, 18, has picked up a contract with exclusive Gold Coast-based agency Katz Management after a dazzling display of catwalk prowess last weekend.

Candice battled with 15 bright young hopefuls in swimwear and casual categories to take out the overall competition and win $1000 in cash and $8500 in prizes.

“It came as a real shock to me and, to be honest, it still hasn't really kicked in,” she said.

The striking brunette hopes to model her career on Australian starlet Miranda Kerr and said she felt equally at home on the catwalk and in front of the camera.

“I love everything about it,” she said.

“There's a real adrenalin rush you get when you hit the catwalk in front of a crowd and a thrill you get when you see the finished product after a photo shoot.”

The contract is a major step in the right direction for Candice, who one day dreams of strutting down the famed catwalks of London and Paris.

“Modelling is all I've ever wanted to do – it's the only thing that has ever really appealed to me,” she said.

Candice may have her eyes set firmly on red carpets and high-end fashion boutiques but she remains a country girl at heart.

She grew up on an 82-acre passionfruit farm near Elliott Heads and is not afraid to get into a pair of gumboots to give her parents a hand.

“I love helping out on the farm,” she said.

“It's a great lifestyle.”
