Judges separate identical brothers

SIBLING rivalry spilled over in a frenzied clash between Bundaberg identical twins Kyle and Mark Millington in The Wide Bay Titles.

The pint-sized Bundaberg Boxing Youth Club pugilists emerged at the top of the heat in the representative competition and shaped up to contend the title at the Bundaberg Civic Centre on Saturday night.

It proved to be an even pairing with Kyle Millington scraping through to claim the title by a mere point.

“I really didn't know which way it was going to go when the judges were counting up the points,” he said.

“It was pretty much blow-for-blow between us because we know each other's style and fight pretty similarly.”

“It was a bit strange fighting my brother but I had to try and remember it was for sport and treat him like any other opponent,” Kyle said.

Other Bundaberg winners at the titles Landon Delincourt toppled Valley Boxing Club's Cameron Maltby in the 75kg title bout.

And Malachai Johnson claimed the 60kg division title comfortably, dominating Blackwater Boxing Club's Corey Higgins.
