Bundaberg not convinced

FORMER television journalist and Ausflag board member Ray Martin is leading a charge to replace the Australian flag.

Mr Martin has been quoted as saying he objected to having the British flag in the corner of our national flag.

“We have well and truly reached the point where we should have our own flag,” he said.

“I think we have to grow up and move on to the next stage.”

Despite Mr Martin’s comments, Bundaberg residents were not convinced Australia was ready for a change.

A snap poll of APN online readers revealed 67% of people would prefer to keep the current flag.
