Local band to showcase talent

THE Bundaberg Municipal Band is aiming to delight locals this weekend when it showcases its talent.

The band will perform at the Shalom Performing Arts precinct this Saturday at 7.15pm.

Junior band members Lachlan McLeod, Samuel Groom, Matthew Eichmann and Nicholas Quinn will perform in the foyer before the show.

Band secretary Neil McCabe said audiences should get a lot out of the show, including a euphonium solo by Fred Coleman from popular musical Porgy and Bess.

“We have been practising hard,” he said.

“We even won the state C-Grade Championship a few months ago.”

Tickets are available at the door. People interested in joining the band can contact Mr McCabe on 4155 2537.
