Bundy choir celebrate 25 years
THE AUDIENCE was serenaded on Saturday night, as the Bundaberg Youth Choir celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Bundaberg Youth Choir publicity officer Judith Hopwood said the choir enjoyed the performance as much as the crowd.
“It went really, really well,” she said.
“The music was beautiful and the audience was really happy with the performance.”
More than 300 people attended the show at the Shalom Performing Arts Precinct.
“The choir was on a total high at the end of it,” Ms Hopwood said.
She said the choir members also enjoyed meeting past BYC singers including Suellen Cusack and Natalie Greer.
“To meet these people shows the choir where they can go with training and support,” she said.
“The Bundaberg Youth Choir is just the beginning.”
Group members range from seven to 18 years old, and boast varying musical styles.
Musical director Robyn Edgar said the group was looking to boost its choir numbers.
People can attend the youth choir’s next meeting on Monday, September 13, between 4pm and 5.45pm at the Anglican conference room at Buss Park.
“The Bundaberg Youth Choir is not an auditioned choir; it is just young Bundaberg people who love music and singing,” she said.
