Update:

The Bruce Highway was reopened at 1.15am this morning. Police are urging drivers to take caution while driving on wet roads. 

 

10.00pm:

A MAN has been killed in a crash involving two trucks on the Bruce Hwy at Alligator Creek this afternoon.

A second man has been taken to Mackay Base Hospital with unknown injuries.

The Bruce Hwy remains closed in both directions and motorists are urged to seek an alternative route.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

There is no further information available at this time.

5.30pm:

AT least one person has been critically injured in a serious crash on the Bruce Hwy at Alligator Creek this afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance, firies and police are currently on scene.

A police spokeswoman said the crash, on the corner of Bruce Hwy and Eversleigh Rd, may be between two trucks but it is unknown at this stage how many vehicles were involved.

The Bruce Hwy has been closed in both directions, motorists are urged to seek an alternative route.
