Brothers plot Diggers' demise

COACH Peter Bock hopes Brothers Aston Villa will be the first to topple undefeated Archem Premier League campaigners Diggers this weekend.

Bock said his team would be out to rattle the cage of Diggers and prevent the competition leaders from completing a clean sweep.

“Every team’s beatable no matter they’re history and we’ll be out there with a winning mindset,” he said.

The task will be made harder by an understaffed midfield missing the talents of Jed McCormack and Darren Cronin who have succumbed to injury.

“We’ll be going in a little bit under gunned, but there’s some depth there and we’ll have some guys ready to step up,” he said.

“It’s going to be a tough one for us but we’ll be out there giving it our best shot.”

Bock said the key to a defeat of Diggers would be limiting the impact of the team’s in-form strikers Paul Barlow and Nick Maas and ensuring a free flow of football into the Brothers attacking half.

“They’re strong right across the park, but their forwards are pretty dominant,” he said.

“They play a good style of consistent football but our guys know what to expect and they’ll be out there giving it their best.”
