Spoils go to victors

BROTHERS are through to the BRL grand final, as are Blazers in the netball and Rovers in the hockey.

Across The Waves Football Club were successful in an 11th-hour appeal to have competition points reinstated and followed it up with a huge win to qualify for the Archem Premier League finals, while Diggers capped a perfect season with a 9-2 romp over Bingera.

Brothers did it in style, as did Blazers and Diggers, while Rovers possessed a hunger that in the end proved the difference.

There were plenty of winners in this weekend's local sport, but plenty of losers.

Isis rugby league club, Cities men's hockey team and most prominently Brothers Aston Villa – who finished in the unlucky fifth place after a tumultuous few weeks at Martens Oval – all had tough weekends.
