ROCK and roll legend Brian Wilson has created hit single after hit, made millions of dollars and will be remembered throughout history as an icon of music.

He also flunked music in high school.

That's right! The Beach Boys co-founder and one of the inspirations of surf music once got an F for a composition he created during high school.

The song? The soon-to-be hit band's first single "Surfin'".

But nearly 60 years later, the teacher, Fred Morgan, owned up to his glaring mistake.

"Brian wrote a composition for me and it turned out to be 'Surfin'," Morgan said.

"That composition got an F, but it made a million dollars."

And to rectify the travesty, Wilson's former high school, Hawthorne High School, invited him back to give him the grade he deserved the first time around - an A.
