Brewers pull in airshow teams
BUNDABERG Brewed Drinks staff have put some fizz into the airshow’s Mission to Cure Plane Pull challenge, and are so keen they’ve entered two teams.
Bundaberg Brewed Drinks general manager Trish Hielscher said staff had shown such overwhelming interest to enter they had nominated two teams.
“There is a lot of light-hearted rivalry amongst both BBD teams and they are determined to beat each other and everyone else,” she said.
“I think they are both aiming to walk away the victors, as they have been discussing what local charity would be a befitting recipient of the prize-winning donation to charity.”
Ms Hielscher said the teams had received training through their participation in Sunday’s Cane2Coral fun run.
“Leukaemia Foundation is a great cause and, as a sponsor of the Wide Bay Airshow, we are keen to show our support within the local community,” she said.
“BBD has kicked off the fundraising with a pledge of $1000 towards the fundraising efforts of our staff, and we hope to add to this with some internal fundraising.”
The plane pull will be held at Bundaberg Airport on Sunday, August 14 and involves teams of 10 trying to pull a DC3 aircraft 20m in the fastest time.
